Top 10 Small Games on Steam (under 200mb)

When we were just starting out gaming we used to think that big games are everything. But as time passed by most of us (including me) realized that is not the case.

Games from big studios, with ultra-high graphics and games, are fun, no doubt about it, but small, simple and short games can be as much fun as those memory hogging games. Here I have created a list of my top 10 small Steam games, they come is small packages (mostly under 200mb), have very little playtime (under ~7 hrs) and are hell lot of fun to play.

1. World of Goo

World of Goo is a physics-based puzzle/construction game. Drag and drop living, squirming, talking, globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins, and giant tongues. The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore – but they don’t know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious.

2. Plants VS Zombies

I am sure that most of you people have heard about this game somewhere before. Plants VS Zombies is a classic strategy based tower defense game by PopCap Games. It is one of the best small games under 200 mb that is available on steam. You have to defend your home from zombies by planting “zombie zapping” plants like peashooters, cherry bombs and many more. PvZ gets more and more difficult after each passing level and you also unlock new plants along the way. You have to try this game once.

3. Realm of the Mad God

Realm of the Mad God is an MMO RPG game developed by Wild Shadow Studios. A free-to-play game with retro 8bit graphics, it is an evolution of traditional MMO gameplay. There are many different heroes classed to choose from and hundreds of items to discover.

4. Carpe Diem

A free to play short light novel, in which you will play as Jung who is currently seeing a girl named Ai(really xD?). She is everything Jung wishes for in a woman… except for one very important thing. A thing he prefers to disregard in order for them to have the best time of their lives.
You have a day to enjoy your date and see the world from Jung’s point-of-view.

5. LIMBO

“Uncertain of his sister’s fate, a boy enters LIMBO” that is all it says on its Steam page apparently. LIMO is a masterpiece, it takes place on a null black world from where the boy starts his journey and along the way he discovers some crazy things. It is a puzzle type indie game which can get frustrating very quickly.

6. Little Inferno

Little Inferno is developed by Tomorrow Corporation (the same guys who developed World of Goo). It is a 2D singleplayer puzzle indie game made by 3 guys.

The Games steam description reads the following:

“Congratulations on your new Little Inferno Entertainment Fireplace! Throw your toys into your fire, and play with them as they burn. Stay warm in there. It’s getting cold outside!
Burn flaming logs, screaming robots, credit cards, batteries, exploding fish, unstable nuclear devices, and tiny galaxies. An adventure that takes place almost entirely in front of a fireplace – about looking up up up out of the chimney, and the cold world just on the other side of the wall.”

7. Braid

Braid is a puzzle and platform game that is drawn in a painterly style. In this game, you can change the flow of time. you have to travel to different worlds in order to save a princess, your power to manipulate time differs in each world. The game has tags of casual, indie & strategy and was first available on 11 April, 2009.

8. Brawlhala

One of the best small games available on steam, Brawlhalla 2D fighting environment and brawling to stay on the map is what makes this game unique. There are many different heroes, arenas & playing modes to choose from. To win this game you will have to brawl with other players (up to 8) and try to throw them out of the map before they throw you out. 9. Doki Doki Literature Club!

Doki Doki is a free lightweight novel by Team Salvato.

Its Steam description reads the following:

Before you start playing this game let me warn you that the game contains Horror & Psychological Horror tags. so yeah.. this game is not for the faint-hearted.

10. The Binding of Isaac

The Binding of Isaac is a single-player RPG game which takes place in randomly generated Dungeon like places. Its Steam Description Read follows:

“When Isaac’s mother starts hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith, Isaac escapes into the basement facing droves of deranged enemies, lost brothers and sisters, his fears, and eventually his mother.
