Transfer Installed steam game files from one PC to another

I will now show you how to transfer installed steam game files from one PC to another.

If you just purchased a game on steam (or want a free game) but does not have bandwidth left to download it & if your friend has got the same game downloaded on his computer, then you can transfer and the game on your computer using steps listed below.

STEP 1:

Make sure that you have purchased the game (or it is a free game), then exit steam.

STEP 2:

In your friend’s PC also exit steam  & navigate to the folder where his steamlibrary is located, by default the steam library folder is ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam’.

STEP 3:

Inside the Steam library folder go to ‘steamapps\common’  & then locate the game, after doing so copy the desired game folder to your PC via pendrive, hdd or via LAN.

STEP 4:

On your PC open your steam library folder and go to ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common’ (or from your steam libray location ‘SteamLibrary\steamapps\common’) then transfer the game folder to there.

STEP 5:

Now open steam and go to library, find your game and click install(in case of a free game search the game on store and click install).

It will now verify the files and after verification your game will be installed and ready to play.
